Deb lives in the Dr. Phillips area with her strongly opinionated Corgi puppy named Charlie. She is the youngest of three children and credits her love of hockey and appreciation of sarcasm to her two older brothers. Her parents have been married for 52 years and graciously host dinner for the entire family every week. Although her mother tries, for the safety of everyone, her father does the cooking.
Deb is a proud graduate of Dr. Phillips High School where she was captain of the basketball team her senior year. She was the only sophomore on the varsity basketball team when they won the state championship in 1992.
She attended Flagler College in St. Augustine and became the President of the Student Body in 1998.
After graduation, Deb worked in communications at a non-profit organization called “A Gift for Teaching” before deciding to go to law school at the University of Florida. She interned at the State Attorney’s Office while attending law school and has never left the office.
When not working, Deb enjoys playing tennis and running. She completed the Disney Marathon in 2009 – a fact she still routinely brings up when attempting to justify eating excessive amounts of chocolate and popcorn. In her head, she’s a professional surfer. However, in reality, she has been able to standup on the board one time for approximately 3 seconds.
Deb loves to travel. A memorable highlight from her adventures thus far include being punched by a kangaroo while visiting Australia. She is always excited to explore new places. She is looking forward to having Ireland be the next stamp on her passport.
